By partnering with Hydrokinetic Energy Corporation (HEC), ORE uses the natural movement of water in canals, tidal zones, and river systems to generate large-scale electricity, delivering a sustainable alternative to traditional power sources.
Our Technology
Our systems utilize next-generation turbines developed by Hydrokinetic Energy Corporation, a U.S.-based research and engineering company founded in 2014 and partner to ORE.
The turbines are built using 3D-printed carbon fiber materials, making them lightweight, durable, and 100% recyclable. They are made to run for 20–25 years in salt or fresh water environments without harming the surrounding environment and marine life.
Why Hydrokinetic Power?
Hydrokinetic energy provides several advantages over traditional renewable sources.
Unlike solar or wind, water flow is continuous and predictable, enabling reliable power production day and night, rain or shine.
For example:
A 1 mile solar installation produces roughly 100 megawatts per day.
A 1 mile canal with water moving at just 4 mph can generate up to 1.7 gigawatts per day – over 17x the energy output.
With this technology, ORE could dramatically expand the United State’s energy production capacity.
Powering the Ports
Our mission is simple: make port operations cleaner, more efficient, and energy independent.
By installing hydrokinetic turbine systems in canals, ORE can generate 200,000 kWh or more of clean electricity per day, meeting the operational power needs of major port facilities.
ORE systems are also designed to integrate with existing power providers, allowing excess energy to be distributed throughout the regional grid for other purposes.
Supporting the Next Generation of Infrastructure
The United States and South Carolina are rapidly becoming the hub for AI data centers and advanced computing infrastructure, which require enormous amounts of electricity.

Our vision includes offshore hydrokinetic platforms capable of powering both data centers and coastal infrastructure while also producing and capturing hydrogen,liquid oxygen, and salt as a part of the desalination process on board, creating additional clean energy opportunities
